About Me
I started my first sports blog when I was in middle school, sharing musings about the Buffalo Sabres I'm sure only my close friends and family read. It wasn't for naught, though. My passion for journalism was ignited and it hasn't waned since.
After graduating from Marquette University in May of 2017 I began my professional career at my hometown paper, The Buffalo News, where I covered nearly every beat we followed. That includes our two major league teams, the Bills and Sabres, as well as University at Buffalo football, Western New York's four Division I basketball programs, Triple-A baseball, indoor lacrosse, women's hockey and high school sports.
I currently serve as the sports editor of the Leader-Telegram in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, covering high school and collegiate sports in addition to my managerial duties.
My resume and notable clips are available on this site and I'm always up for connecting and networking. Thank you for checking out my work!

My Featured Work
I detailed the unlikely journey of Jaylen Morris, a native of the Buffalo suburbs, from an undersized high school player and Division II utility man to an NBA player with the Atlanta Hawks. I spoke to Morris as well as his high school, college and G League coaches.
Only a tight inner circle knew what Connor Fields was going through in his senior year. He fought through a torn ACL, sprained MCL and injured meniscus while still finishing in the top five in DI scoring and leading the Danes to their best season yet.
Chosen as the best sports story in the 2015 Milwaukee Press Club Awards, this story looks into Calvin Deutsch, Marquette men's soccer's sports performance assistant, and the work he has done to propel the team into greater success through new technological advances.

I spoke to quarterback trainer and former NFL player Jordan Palmer, University at Buffalo coach Lance Leipold, UB quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski and Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson to figure out why the young signal-caller is on the national radar.
UB and CJ Massinburg found each other at a perfect time. UB had just lost Bobby Hurley and had plenty of open roster spots. Massinburg just received bad word on his school of choice. A tip from an assistant coach brought them together.
Marquette men's lacrosse is already a winner in the sport just six years after the program was given the go-ahead by the athletic department. I looked into the previously untold story of why the sport was added and how the school landed Joe Amplo, previously an assistant at Hofstra.
